When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication data through our identity provider (Clerk). When you use the app, we store the trading data you enter, including journal entries, day notes, trading setups, rules, and trade logs.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve the Finmarkers service, including:

  • Displaying your trading data back to you
  • Powering AI-driven analysis and coaching features
  • Processing payments through Stripe
  • Sending essential service communications
  • Analyzing usage patterns to improve the product (via PostHog)

3. AI Processing

Your trading data may be sent to third-party AI providers (Google Gemini, OpenAI) to power the AI Coach and analysis features. This data is used only to generate responses and is not used to train AI models. We send only the minimum data necessary for each request.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and implement security headers including HSTS, CSP, and X-Frame-Options. Authentication is handled by Clerk with industry-standard security practices.

5. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to provide authentication, payment processing, AI-powered features, analytics, and infrastructure. These services only receive the minimum data necessary to function and are bound by their own privacy policies.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your data within 30 days. Cached data is automatically purged within 5 minutes.

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. Analytics cookies (PostHog) track product usage to help us improve the service.
